i'm liking a lot of this - very strong. if i was to make a criticism it'd be around the assumptions the narrator makes about black women and africa. great opening lines tho

Really great! I especially admired the first part. I think what I most admire about it is what it half says and suggests. It is a true poem, with a poem's natural ambiguity. What it says could not have been said in prose.

as in if you wrote this about a european woman would it make sense?

no it wouldn't, I guess I was focusing on your point about black women and africa when I wrote with a white african woman in mind, was just wondering if you meant something in particular about black african women that came aross in the poem.
