I'd much rather be de-cabbaged than swine flu'ed!

Not poetry but swine flu on my mind over the last week.

Since last friday the eighteen confirmed cases of swine flu in Argyll and Bute has risen to sixty-five, the vast majority of them in my otherwise sleepy hometown of Dunoon. The strategy is no longer containment but treatment - looks like we're all going to get it, if not now then in the autumn.

However, very much looking forward to Rob Mackenzie's De-Cabbage Yourself Blog Tour arriving on this blog on Monday.

Goodness, Sorlil, I hadn't realised - no doubt because when you read the papers you only focus on the impact on your own locale. Do look after yourself and focus on the fact that it's been really mild in the vast majority of cases in the UK (and rest of the world apart part from Mexico, I think).
Will be back for Mr Mackenzie. A blog tour. How virtual.

yes, they say it's a mild strain of the flu here. I'm walking about with antibacterial handwash hoping that will save me!

Yes, certainly hope it misses you.

I'm not very medical...is there any benefit in being exposed to it now and getting some immunity?
Just trying to look on the bright side...
Think of you every time they mention it on the news!

thanks rob, I'm hoping so!

hi rachel I had thought of that especially since it's looking like everyone's going to get it in the autumn anyway but I'd still rather not get it!

thanks roxana though it's hard to be that sure when my wee town is now the swine flu capital of scotland - eek!
