Yes, it's been a while. I do apologise, however here's a poem I wrote tonight with which I'm reasonably pleased.

Girl collects signatures on Buchanan street

Talc-pale skin, thin legs
clad in tartan tights, feet shod

am no poetry critic, but like this one a lot; quite powerful to depict such a familiar Truth...the reality of the commonplace scene on Buchannan street resonates a lot with me, with that lingering sadness that they will not hear Him...

I like this a great deal. You are right to be pleased with it. Well chosen, telling descriptive detail: tartan tights, Doc Martins, head shorn, pens like alms, crimson nails. Love the nightmarish, dark humour of the "charging crowd with half-price / sale-tag eyes."

You incorporate the Biblical allusions well into this poem about "the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it."

I can't find anything negative to say.

One question about something I may be missing just because I don't know Glasgow. Is there special significance to Buchanan Street?

Excellent. Worth waiting for.

thanks s, I'm glad you like it.

anhaga, thankyou. There is no special significance attached to Buchanan Street other than it's one of Glasgow's main shopping streets and this is a familiar sight seen on the street. Thanks again.

honest man, thankyou - I'm pleased you think so!

Good to see a poem that is not about your new baby.

Sowwy, just how I feels.

Love the biblical allusions in this one, inserted so deftly. Are you actually in Scotland? I had no idea. Good work!

heh, I've rather overdone the baby genre! Thanks ce, and yes I'm in Scotland, I see my accent doesn't cross the blog divide.
