And this poem was up for barely a day! What are you playing at?

‘Sula Sgeir’ is a much better piece than the previous three. It’s a painting in words. It doesn’t pretend to tell a story and even though there is an ‘I’ in the poem the narrator is not the focus of the poem; she’s simply there, the ear in the forest that hears the tree fall. My favourite line though has to be ‘a gulp of birds troubling its air’ – quite beautiful.

Then let me get my foot in the door before you whip it off again: this is an improvement. It was good to start with but this is better.
