April is known as National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo), where mad people the world over take on the challenge to write a poem for every day of the month of April -April being the cruelest month of course!
I've never participated but thinking of giving it a go this year, if I do then I apologise in advance for the quality of work and if I don't then just be happy you've not been subjected to my efforts. Anyway here's tonight's effort -

Castle Sands

All I see is daffodils
in the dying light of day

As it happens it's only the 2nd of April, and I did write a poem yesterday (a haiku if that counts!), so I may give it a whirl - Haiku all the way, I wonder? What strikes me is that it might be worth doing, if only to see what I have at the end of the month that can e worked up into something worthwhile. Thanks for the idea, anyway.

great, I think it is worthwhile because you're bound to end up with some stuff that could reworked into something worthwhile as you said and it's an interesting exercise in discipline also.

the sea poems are also great, but this one is my favourite. perfect in its simplicity! the image is stunning and the alliteration increases the tension...
